Down the coast a couple of miles from Monterey is the Point Lobos State Reserve.
Lots of seals, sea birds and definitive seascapes and rock formations.

What a beautiful place.
The ocean is never dull!
Ah, the sea is calling me.
I sense a Caspar trip on the horizon!
Great pictures. Love the colorful rocks. How did the polka dots get in the rocks? I envy you. Enjoy!
The rocks are composed of different minerals. The softer minerals have eroded away faster causing the polka dot effect. Thank you, Sher!
This looks like a wonderful place to spend the day. 🙂
It certainly is just that! Lots of picnic tables at the turn-around point shaded by pine trees dripping in Spanish moss.
It looks beautiful there! Must have been quite a surprise to find all those seals.
I think it’s one of the places along the coast where they stop to rest on their journey north. It was a treat to see so many and so close.
So beautiful and peaceful! Lovely shots Annie. I would sit there all day watching the seals. Thanks for sharing. 😀
They are all so robust from their winter stay further south. The seals camouflaged so easily on the rocks below me. I had to stand and stare for a long time to make them out. Thank you, Sonel.
I don’t know how I missed this post. Because sea lions are one of my very favorite creatures EVER!!!! Thanks for sharing these precious photos.
So glad you like them! Thank you!
I remember my first trip to Point Lobos back in 1992. I didn’t want to leave. In fact, the whole California Coast kept calling me after that trip, and 11 months later, I had moved to California from Texas.
Great shots from a wonderful part of the world, and such freedom in these wonderful views Annie!
Thank you, Patti! It is quite a popular place. Most of the people I saw on this day trip were speaking in various foreign languages.
