Cypress Trees N Knees (#837)

I visited Toltec Mounds State Park in Scott, Arkansas recently where Native Americans lived and built the mounds between 650 and 1050 AD.

Along my path a boardwalk extended out into the water..,

In the foreground of the photo are Cypress Trees with growths that come from the roots called Knees…to this day it is not known what purpose they serve…except to look pretty darn cool.,,

The background of the photo shows part of the largest mounds built by ancient native people.
