My Road Trip To Wyoming From Ohio (#811)

My road trip out West to Cody, Wyoming started on April 5th. It was a brand new route for me which led to some new campgrounds, a harrowing experience driving up the west side of Lake Michigan and being sidelined twice due to extreme winds and snow.

But my RV, Subaru, Kayak and I made it thru unscathed which made the trip a raging success.

On that Tuesday, the end of the first day of the journey found us pulling into Chain O Lakes State Park in Albion, Indiana. It had been a pleasant drive of 265 miles.

Most campgrounds north of the Mason Dixon line are sparsely populated in the month of April. Still quite cold. I had a spot tucked away in the leafless trees all to myself. The air was still, no animals about, simple…quiet…solitude.

Look at my little home on wheels….I can hardly believe she is 15 years old….still going strong….bless her mechanical heart!

Off in the distance, to the left, you can see my Subaru with Kayak on top. The rangers let me move to a more suitable spot but I had yet to move the car over at the time of this photo.

More to come…

Love, annie
