A Day With Friends Then Back On The Road (#749)

A detour to Yuba City to visit friends.  Lovely country farm living at its best.  Val and Carl turned me on to grilled bison burgers.  Most flavorful and tender.

They live among the rice fields with their fur kids: Bella, Matilda, Chico, Sophie and Dot. So happy to spend some quality time with them all before getting on the road.

Drove I-5 up into Oregon.  At a rest stop near Crescent there were huge trees which I thought were Ponderosa Pines.  The info placards said Nay, nay.

These were Jeffrey pines with pine cone barbs that point inward rather than outward like the Ponderosas.  Their little saying is burned into my brain forever:

Prickly Ponderosa; Gentle Jeffrey.

Oy, the random things we learn on the road.

Overnight stop at Big Pine RV and today on to Washington.
