SeaGull Smack (#742)

Driving the road home (for the summer) to Westport is a breathtaking beautiful scenic drive.

I had been to the coastal town of Fort Bragg and was wending my way back to the park.  Ocean view to the west; rolling pastures and forested hills to the east…….and around a bend in the road there stood a sea gull.

I slowed my car to avoid hitting it.  But then it took off, flew smack into my windshield and kept right on flying.  Apparently it was okay, my car was okay, so I continued on my way without further incident.

It had been one of those “yikes” and then “phew” moments.  Happy for me and the gull that all is well.

sometimes those birds are down right dangerous. Had a goose fly into ours once, bent the chrome around the window.
