Heroes…….Every One (#738)

Portland Veterans Medical Center.  I went here recently to meet up with Sandy, my friend from Wyoming.  She served in the Army in the 70s.

While waiting for her in the lobby, in just a short hour, hundreds of veterans, men and women (some walking, some in wheelchairs, some with canes) came through the doors.

Center stage in the background is a veteran volunteer playing “ I’ll Be Seeing You “ on the piano.  A most heart-warming way to balance the solemn atmosphere.

Above him, on the wall is the quote: “ the price of Freedom is visible here “

Our appreciation to all those who served and continue to serve our country.
