Leo Is The One I Will Miss (#699)

In less than ten days, I will be traveling south to a volunteer position in one of Florida’s many beautiful state parks.

My home on wheels will be taken out of storage, the car hooked up to the tow bar in back, the kayak strapped to the roof of the car and Ohio will be in my rearview mirror.

These past couple of months, I have enjoyed staying with family, completing various sewing projects and getting some necessary repairs on my RV.

The family has seven rescued dogs who share their home.  All are quite small, ranging in size from 7 to 17 lbs.  They all have distinctive personalities ranging from laid back to frenzied and curious to curiouser.

There is one, however, who has my heart.  Leo with his trademark one ear up and one ear down, is the little guy who runs in from his outdoor ramblings, charges up the stairs to my room and jumps on my bed for a snuggle, a massage or to sink into a glorious mid-morning nap.

There will always be

The special ones

We carry in our hearts,

No matter time or place,

In a continuum of love.

A lovely – and a bit sad, post♥ And I wish you luck in your new place.

I thought you had a Winnebago travel trailer, but this post suggests that you have changed to a motorhome as you are pulling your car. Is my memory faulty? I must say that I am envious of you as we have given up RV-ing. The same year as Penny went to doggy heaven!

Hi Ruth ~ Always a pleasure to hear from you. Yes, I have my Winnebago motorhome (Class C) ever since I went on the road in 2007. Your Penny was such a sweet, loveable pup. I remember how you made me feel so welcome and the road trips we went on together. You are in my heart, Ruth. I hope we meet again.
