A Month Of Sundays: Day 15 (#543)

I woke up in Sequim (Squim) this morning; drove 101 West for 75 miles to Forks, Washington.  Rain all the way.  But what beautiful country.

My camp site is in the Forks 101 RV Park in the middle of this quaint little Pacific Northwest town which was the setting for the Twilight Saga books.

I met the wonderful people at Forks Visitor Center who filled my head with all sorts of places to visit; giving me maps and little tidbits of info.  They were so welcoming.

With a heavy downpour chasing me back to my car, I decided to find some groceries and get in a short walk up and down all the aisles  (I have lost count of the numbers of clerks who have come up to me asking if they can help me find something).  Okay, so sometimes I walk around the whole store 2 or 3 times.

Anyway, I am making my way down the canned veggies/canned everything aisle and this man is sitting in a motorized cart dead center.  No way I can push a cart around him. So I say Sir, excuse me, could you move a bit to the side please?  No response.  I speak a bit louder.  Nope, still nothing.  Finally, I move closer and practically shout in his ear. Nada.

All of a sudden, he stands up in his cart and starts talking to no one in particular, Why don’t they ever have the canned tamales that I like?

I laugh and say, Okay then,  to no one in particular, turn my cart around and head on back down the aisle.  Sometimes you just have to laugh and move on.

Thankful for magical places and people to visit ~

Interesting place – but I could do with a little less rain! I guess the guy in the motorized chair just tuned you right out!

Sounds like another typical rainy day in The PacNW. Washington gets a lot more rain that Oregon. The guy definitely was a highlight of our day.
