A Month Of Sundays: Day 9 (#537)

From the coast I traveled inland today from Newport to the Columbia River Gorge just 20 miles to the east of Portland.

I may be far from the coast but still close to water.  With my car unhooked from the RV, I drove along the river to Latourell Falls (just one of the 77 waterfalls in the gorge on the Oregon side of the river).

The trees in the gorge are covered with a thick green moss.  It is fascinating to be surrounded by green tree trunks and branches.  Like a fairyland scene.

The park hosts at my stop-over, Crown Point RV Park, were so welcoming.  They helped me get my rig set up, gave me directions to the waterfalls and Mount Hood (for another day) and smiled the entire time like I was the best part of their whole day.

I am planting myself here for a few days.  There is just so much to see and do.  I do not want to miss any of it.

Thankful and blessed to know so many kind and generous RV inn keepers throughout our wonderful country.  I am so proud of them all ~

What a beautiful place. And as for me, you and your stories make my whole day, next to Barney of course! Enjoy and thanks for all the shared pictures. It is truly magical.

Isn’t it just magical up by the falls. So beautiful this time of year with all the moss. The falls must be running fast right now because of the rains. One of my favorite drives of all times.

    Love your travels Annie!
