My month long odyssey started today. A long awaited trip up along the coasts of northern California, Oregon and Washington with a stop-over in Portland and the Columbia River Gorge.
At 8AM a deluge of rain poured down on me as I broke camp: disconnected electric cord, water and septic hoses; connected car to RV. A 9AM appointment for the RV kept me on task rather than leisurely waiting out the rain.
Totally soaked through to the bone, I changed clothes, hung the wet ones in the shower and got on my way. An hour at the garage got fresh oil into the RV and corrected tire pressure in all 6 tires plus the 4 on the Subaru.
Highway 1 was a pleasure to drive the 25 miles to my first stop: Westport Beach. My camping site for the next couple of days is right next to the sand dunes. The ocean waves thunder onto the shore a mere hundred feet away.
I will sleep with the cadence of the waves tonight.
I am so thankful for the open road, for pleasant, peaceful places to rest and renew….
Annie
Great pictures Annie. Glad you are enjoying yourself!
How wonderful to hear from you, Sandy!
Are you in Q now?
Beautiful shots Annie and what a wonderful welcome back to the road!
Thank you, Patti! So happy to be here.
I can feel the peace – so glad for you that you’re back on the road 🙂
Happiness is…..reaching out and satisfying these special longings.
Safe travels my best friend. I know you have been anxious to get moving again. Was surprised you are in one spot for that long. Lots of adventures await. Can’t wait for the pictures and the stories. Love these of the ocean. Good job.
So happy to have you along for the trip, Sher! Many thanks.
The sound of the ocean always leaves me calm and relaxed. Your shots are beautiful and they emanate the same feeling. Enjoy the travels again!
Thank you, Leya. I love photos that betray our feelings too.
Sorry you had to get so wet. We are partly sunny (at least for the moment). Your photos are stunning. I really like your last one with the seagull on the rock. 😀
Such wonderful inspirations here. Thank you, Cee. That gull just called out for a photo.
I love the beach. Lucky you. It was so windy here yesterday. It blew my big trash can across the yard. When I opened the door to go get it, I thought it would blow me away too. I could not pick up the can because it was full but it was still blowing across the driveway. My husband picked it up. We got the wind and you got the rain.
I was an inland gal for 50+ years. First came here in 2007. It is in my heart now.
So beautiful Annie. I love your free spirit and sense of adventure. Have a wonderful trip.
Thank you. Glad you are along for the ride!
