The northern California coast never ceases to amaze me. I have been coming here since 2007 and am still able to find new beaches.
Some day I should just write a book about all these beautiful otherworldly beaches.
Soon the beach narrowed to where I would have to wade waist deep thru the surf to get to another beach. The sun was beating down. I saw a cliff and thought to climb out to the path above.
Halfway up the cliff, I realized it was very unstable, crumbling beneath my feet. I slowly retraced my steps down; feeling shaky over my error in judgement. This is the surreal part: a raven sitting on top of the opposite cliff started making cooing sounds, as tho’ to soothe me as I struggled to safe footing.
Once back on stable ground I turned and said thank you. The raven made a croaking sound once, then flew off down the beach. ( I am overwhelming grateful, Raven)
