Sunday Post: Landscape

Salvation Mountain next to Slab City in Niland, California is an epic landscape of folk art.

In 2001 the Folk Art Society of America deemed Salvation Mountain a National Folk Art Site worthy of protection and preservation.

I snapped this photo while on a road trip to the nearby Salton Sea.

See you on down the road!

Hi Annie…when you were at the Salvation Mountain did you get to meet the guy that has done all the work there? We have been there several times and have talked to him twice. One time he gave us a puzzle with a picture of the mountain and the next time he gave us a CD with the story of the mountain and himself. It is very interesting. He is quite the fella. Neat place. We are talking about trying to go again before we go home…..or maybe next season.
    Have safe travels…..Chris
