Celebrating In The Land Of Oz (#121)

It’s a busy and exciting time all over! Back at the homestead, my oldest granddaughter, Kaitlyn just graduated yesterday from high school in the top 5th percent of her class. Yay, Kaitlyn, you did it!

From 3,000 miles away I felt the pain of not being there with the family to celebrate. One of the few but poignant hardships of being a full-timer, baby boomer, work camper.

We spoke on the phone and they all “promised” to send videos and pictures.

Today is June 10, 2011! Today marks one year since I started writing this blog. Happy 1st Birthday, Tin Can Traveler!

So I lit a candle to celebrate both events. Thinking about all my family and friends, seeing everyone here. It got visually crowded in my Tin Can Cottage, I can tell you.

To all my wonderful readers: You all continue to inspire me! At times, to cajole me! But I always feel honored to have you in my life.  You make the journey all the more special!

Also to celebrate I went to Fort Bragg and ate breakfast at a restaurant with a Wizard of Oz theme. I walked into the restaurant on the Yellow Brick Road and sat in a high booth. While waiting for my “Eggs Benedict” (the best in Oz and elsewhere), I spotted this sign.

It’s a magical place this world!

I had no idea it had been a year! You should have told me ahead of time I would have sent a gift or at the least lit a candle here. Congratulations to you and to Kaitlyn! Job well done to you both. Good luck on your college career. Anne you are truly priceless! Love you to

Congratulations, Tin Can Traveler! I thought of you the other night on a guided hike in Palo Duro Canyon. I didn’t realize it had been a year since I met you there. I enjoy your stories and they inspire me. Let me know if you are ever in the canyon again.
    Best wishes on your journey!
    Cindy

  5. I think of you whenever I think of the canyon. Thank you! I’ll be back some day!
