Friday I moved down canyon to the Hackberry campground from the canyon rim here at Palo Duro State Park. It’s my old campground where I first hosted in 2010. I love it here.
On a drive around the bottom of the canyon I found evidence of our recent rainstorm. The reddish clay was mucky in some areas.
In another place it was already dry but still showing evidence of where the water ran.
Moving on I found a clump of wildflowers brought to bloom by the warm temperatures in the canyon and a little pepito insect hanging out on a bud.
A bit later I found a lifeless moth in a puddle of red clay water from the recent runoff. Still life with moth. Still beautiful!
See you on down the road!
Love, Annie

Wow I love the contrast photo of the moth on the red clay soil. You have an amazing eye for photography.
Lots of photos, lots and lots of photos! Thank you so much for the compliment!
I’m sure when it rains there it comes down fast and furious. Great pictures. Beautiful wildflowers too. Don’t you just love nature photography! Good job.
You’re right! It usually runs off without soaking in because the ground is so dry! Thank you for your kind compliments!
I also like the moth. Nice post.
I so enjoy your posts as well! Thank you!
‘Still life with a moth’ is one of the most FABulous photos I HAVE EVER SEEN. Wow!!!
So glad you’re not turned off because the little moth spirit / essence is elsewhere! Dead or alive, there’s beauty everywhere. My gratitude to you!
Well, poor little moth. but, Oh, yes, beauty is everywhere. And YOUR eye brought it to MY eye — how flippin’ cool is THAT!?!?!?
