Mom, are you nuts? Don’t you watch the news where the US is warning people to stay out of Mexico? This from my daughter Amber when I told her I had a dentist appointment in Algodones, Mexico.
Amber, everyone says how safe it is in that little border town. And the dental care is really cheap!
Well, she said, when they kidnap you, don’t come crying to me!!!!
That dire warning from my only daughter was not going to deter me. I only stayed up for 2 nights prior to the trip just because…..I wasn’t very tired.
Then, the day before, on February 13th my neighbor returned from a trip there and reported a 3 hour wait just to get out of that country.
Hmm! The negatives were stacking up against the positives. And, really, it was only for a yearly checkup. Did I want the inconvenience and cloud of doom over my head. Nay! Nay!
So the morning of the trip I called my friend and said If you could go anywhere else……
He came up with a wonderful “somewhere else.” We were transported (via a short road trip) to another time, an era of extraordinary inventions. Of cars and trucks and things that go! Compliments of the Cloud Museum in Bard, California.

Good choice! You can get a check up anywhere IN THE GOOD OLD USA! I think I know what that is on the top of the car. It lets you know when the car needs water – running hot. Be safe girl friend. Miss you. I wasn’t looking forward to a trip to Mexico to get you out of a predicament!
